With the iconic red brick Headland Hotel behind me and vast rugged coastline of Fistral and beyond in front it is a complete contrast to study the many and varied species of grasses and shrubs that thrive in the harshest conditions of the edge of the coastline. Clothing the ground in greens, greys, and yellows and punctuating with dainty pink, purple and red petals. Their scale is small individually but their impact is mighty together.
