Arundel Castle, West Sussex, the seat of the Duke of Norfolk is a magical place, especially during the tulip festival in spring. This piece is part of a series of three works based on sketches and studies from an inspiring day in 2023.

Tulips in huge green oak urns put on an unashamedly extravagant display either side of the "canal", the colours and textures are vibrant, refreshing and dazzling. Photograpohs cannot do this scene justice and it was was a true pleasure to capture the performance en plein air.
